Visual and or Text editor
The visual editor is basically a what you see is what you get Editor. So, this means what you type is what you will see. You can also add an image via the “add media” button. This will place the image where you want it – there are some exceptions.
How to use the visual or text editor in WordPress. The Text editor is mostly code. For instance, if you type a sentence in the visual editor and want to “Bold” the first word all you do is high-light the word with your mouse and click on the B to make it bold.
The text editor was once called HTML editor but it is now called the text editor.
Clicking on the text button and it will take you to the text version of the same post. It is here that you are able to see the code that it takes to make the first work bold.
Here is the code that WordPress uses to make the letter B bold.
Many newbie WordPress users cannot find the bottom half of the toolbar. Just click on the little square box and it will produce the bottom part of the visual toolbar.

Another box or button that many new users don’t see or haven’t used is the distraction free writing mode in WordPress. It makes writing and posting on WordPress a whole easier…and distraction free!

How to add a hyperlink in a WordPress post.
Adding a hyperlink is really easy. You highlight the words or text you want your link to go to. Then click on the little paper clip looking icon. See image 3.c
