Adding an image to your post is a snap.  Here are the instructions on how to do just that.  How to add a link to an image in your website.

First, we go to the post where we want to place an image.  For this, we will go to our training site and add an image to the most famous WordPress post of all…the “Hello world” post.

Click on the Add Media button.  Then Click below, above, left or to the right of the text where you want to add an image.

For those who have images sitting on their hard drive, you will need to click on the upload files button.  However, if you have an image already stored in your image library you will click the “Media Library” button.

Once you have uploaded or chosen your image just click on the Insert into post blue button.

The URL is where the actual image resides in your file system.  The Title is the name you originally named it.  The caption is what the text that will be shown to your visitors.  The ALT text helps search engines understand what the

If your visitor does not have images turned on (via web browser) it can show or read the text that comes with the images.

So, now you have an image on your post.  Adding a link is actually quite simple once you have the image posted.

You will need to hover your mouse over the image and you will be presented with the following:

Clicking on right align, center, or left is basically where you want to place your image on your post.

Click on the pull-down arrow.  This will bring up a list of options.

  1. Media File
  2. Attachment page
  3. Custom URL
  4. None

You want the “Custom URL” option.

Now type in the URL or custom link into the space provided.  Don’t forget to click on the blue update button on the button right-hand corner.
